Welcome to the Community Page of Lifespring Church and Centre
Community Action Response was established in March 2020 to respond to the COVID crisis. Today it continues to serve those who are most vulnerable in our communities (mainly Ollerton, Boughton, Warsop, Bilsthorpe, Edwinstowe and Farnsfield).
The project provides food parcels for those referred by various agencies, but people can also self-refer if they do not have a support worker. There is also telephone support and referral to professional agencies offering help for mental, emotional and physical health.
CAR is a partnership of local organisations and works with the Town Council, District Councils, Schools, Family Centres, Care Homes, local businesses and others under the governance of Lifespring Church and Centre. The project is chaired by Councillor Mike Pringle and Pastor Mike Philips.
With 70 volunteers at the height of the epidemic, CAR distributed over 200,000 meals to people in North Nottinghamshire since the onset of COVID.
How Can You Help?
Each food parcel for a family costs us about £50.00 and provides enough food for all the family's meals for a week.
As we approach the end of another year, we look back at the last two and a half years in which we have witnessed some amazing achievements.
None of this would be possible without the agencies that work with us and the fabulous volunteers who give up their time to support others, as well as the local community who have donated food and toys!
What a great community we have.
All of us at Lifespring thank you and pray for COVID -19 and the cost-of-living crisis to end and 2023 to be a better and blessed year for all.
We are all together even when we are apart t ❤
